Noise 2 A self-promo in pink flock wallpaper.

Following the success of BOB/Noise 1, we had been bitten by the blatant self-promotion bug. We wanted to go for something more adventurous. We decided to create another, more progressive and ambitious production — Noise 2. The physical format was scaled down, but the page size was increased to 200, with a few print finishes thrown in. The dust jacket was a pink flock wallpaper cover. We’d found a traditional UK wallpaper

manufacturer who told us “flock wasn’t selling anymore” so we helped him get rid of some old rolls from his factory. We didn’t manage to cover every book. The finished piece was reminiscent of local curry houses, pubs and general bad taste. Overall, the juxtaposition with our graphic design work amused us. The intention was to have bad design shrouding good design, or vice versa, depending on your taste. Published in 1996.
