Gaia Home Improvement for Gaians.
While manga and anime roots and style gave Gaia a strong POV, the visual style was seen as too "kiddy." But, as with most user-generated sites, Gaians felt a personal connection to the site. Our task was to build Gaia a brand strategy that spurred growth but didn't alienate current fans. Working with the Gaia team, ATTIK saw that Gaia was a place where young people felt free to explore their ideas through drawing, storytelling and interactions without consequences. People visiting the site liked the intimacy of the experience, as Gaia provided a place where imagination was valued above image and all else.
In creating a refreshed brand identity, ATTIK further encouraged Gaian's lively imagination. This attracted more users, and enriched the experiences of current Gaians everywhere. A fresh brand ID system, including a new logo, graphic elements, color palette, typography, and a new website realigned the brand as a fun social environment that inspires individuality and creativity. This position not only celebrates Gaians' personal points of view, but also encourages use of the site's virtual goods storefront. Today, over 7 million users visit the site every month.
