Free Realms Branding a Whole New World.
Targeting an audience of 9-14 year old boys and girls, the logo and key art for Free Realms needed to be vibrant and fun, with a 'hip' and sophisticated edge, which reflected the high production values of the game itself, and was relevant to the digital entertainment space that it occupies. The visual identity also needed to stand out from the plethora of online games already available to kids. The logo itself needed to work as a distinct stand alone element that communicated the essence of the game outside of the context of the branded key art.
ATTIK developed a complete visual system including logo and key art that was flexible enough to be applied across a wide range of executions, including retail POS, the Free Realms website, Topps game card packaging and a multitude of promotional and marketing elements. The new system provided Sony Online with comprehensive visual brand guidelines for color and typography usage, modular graphical elements and a wide variety of templates for print and motion applications.
